NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, ROCK SCIENCE!

Las Vegas, NV (July 12, 2011) RockyBrook Sinkers (RBS) launches its new Limestone Fishing Sinker line-up at the 2011 American Sportfishing Association's (ASA) ICAST tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV. This new sinker offers distinct fishing benefits to anglers, is 100% safe, and is good for the environment. Charlie Evans, former President and CEO of FLW Outdoors will introduce the sinkers in Booth # 2059 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and invites everyone to stop by and see the newest sinker in the industry.

What makes RBS so different is that they are made of natural limestone rock. It's the density and unique shape that help anglers catch more fish. RockyBrook sinkers have enough weight to cast and also flutter while sinking, adding natural action to the lure. They're harder to snag and easier to free when snagged. They're odorless, leave no residue and being made of stone, naturally blend in with surroundings. They make a loud rattle when bouncing against rocks or each other which attracts the fish. RBS also produces a flatter shaped sinker designed for skipping under docks and overhanging brush.

If these sinkers are lost, they're 100% safe for fish, waterfowl and the environment. Equally important, unlike common river rock, the properties of limestone enable it to raise pH, which in turn reduces acidity in water, caused by acid mine drainage or natural events such as acidic bedrock and acid rain. Limestone also produces alkalinity which is critically important in stabilizing changes in pH. It's a well-known fact that nationally recognized water restoration programs spend millions of dollars each year adding limestone to fisheries in order to improve or restore water quality.

RBS, located in Morgantown, WV, is a family-owned business operated by Dwight & Susan Pauley and their son, Brook. The idea originated from fishing rocky, snag prone streams. "With normal sinkers, it seemed like every other cast would snag; it was frustrating, not to mention the cost of lost tackle," says Dwight Pauley. "We simply came up with a better way to fish."

"It's a detailed manufacturing process," says Brook Pauley. "The stone is quarried, sized, shaped, finished, assembled and packaged. At first, it drove me crazy when people would say it's just a rock. Then I realized it's really a compliment because we want the sinker to look perfectly simple and natural. Believe me, it didn't start that way!" Each individual sinker is handmade and has to pass inspection (checked for balance, casting ability, shape and quality) before being packaged.

RockyBrook sinkers range in size from 1/64 ounce to 2 ounces and can be purchased by weight or in variety packs. RBS also offers a line of fish hooks made of high-quality black nickel.

Brook Pauley commented, "We're working hard to keep the prices as low as possible and make our products available in more locations."

Susan Pauley summed it up by saying, "RBS is making a sinker that helps anglers catch more fish, while at the same time is made of a material that improves water quality. That's quite an accomplishment!"
